SafeGuard PrivateDisk is a compact file security solution that protects confidential files against unauthorized access and intrusions by creating a secure drive partition. PrivateDisk accomplishes this by creating an encrypted virtual disk partition on your computer. Accepted by users and administrators alike, SafeGuard PrivateDisk provides the scalability to meet your organization’s specific needs. SafeGuard PrivateDisk Personal Edition is ideal for small- and medium-sized offices. The Enterprise Edition is suitable for large-scale deployment and offers sophisticated configuration tools, including central administration for rapid, low-cost implementation. SafeGuard PrivateDisk constructs a virtual hard drive that functions like an electronic vault for stored files. Users simply store or save electronic data (documents, records, etc.) that is on their PCs or network to a single SafeGuard PrivateDisk volume file and the files are instantly encrypted. With SafeGuard PrivateDisk, the entire contents are stored in a safe area, completely protected from unauthorized access. Upon read, data is decrypted in memory for fast access that's completely transparent to the user. Any differences from a regular hard disk are totally transparent to users. They can create, save, move, and copy files as usual. Users can save these encrypted files onto network servers, local hard disks, and any portable storage media (e.g., floppy or Zip disks, CDs, memory sticks).
